Minutes of Town Meeting
July 5, 2022


President Charles M. Rhodes, Jr. called the meeting to order at 10:10 a.m.  Present were Town Commissioners John P. Griffin, Sr. and Edward C. Raffetto, Jr and Town Administrator/Clerk, Nancy J. Lindyberg.  President Rhodes dispensed with the Pledge of Allegiance. 

Commissioner Raffetto moved to approve the minutes of June 16, 2022 as written.  Commissioner Griffin seconded the motion.  The motion passed 3-0.

Committee Reports:

Planning and Zoning:  Nothing to report at this time.

Board of Appeals:
  Nothing to report.

Budget Status Report
:  Each Commissioner received a copy and reviewed same.

Unfinished Business: 

Delmarva Power to Transition Remainder of Street Lights to LED Fixtures:  The Town has been informed by Delmarva Power that they are experiencing very long delays and lead times on all material right now, including streetlights and the work may not be done until late summer.  The Town recently received an email from Delmarva stating that they have our list of street lights to be transitioned, but no indication of when this work would be done.

Speed Study/Traffic Count - Pending: The vendor sent a contract package to the Town, which was forwarded to the Town's attorney for review.

Queen Anne's County Economic Development Grant Fund:
  The Town received an email from Queen Anne's County Economic Development stating that the Queen Anne's County Commissioners asked them to contact the municipalities indicating that they are able to apply for grants for certain projects the Town intends to undertake. The Town sent a Letter of Interest to the Queen Anne's County Economic Development detailing certain projects.  Queen Anne's County Economic Development sent another email stating that the Town of Church Hill has been selected to apply for a grant.  They also sent the application for the Town to submit by June 30, 2022.  The application has been completed and submitted.
 
Other:
  Commissioner Rhodes stated that the stormwater pipe under Cemetery Lane was replaced under the road by County Roads crew.

New Business:

Correspondence:  The Town received a letter from the Queen Anne's County Commissioners stating that the Town of Church Hill will receive $52,000.00 in municipal aid this year. The Town also received a note from Church Hill Elementary School fourth grade teacher Paul Taylor thanking Commissioner Rhodes for taking part in the Advancement Ceremony.  He also thanked the Town Commissioners for their continued support and involvement in the school and the community.

Maryland Food Bank Truck
:  The Maryland Food Bank truck will again be in Church Hill Thursday, July 28, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at 562 Main Street, the old lumber yard property.

Sewer System:

Flow Reports:  Each Commissioner has a copy of the flow reports and reviewed same.

Other:
  None

  None

Commissioner Griffin moved to adjourn the meeting.   Commissioner Raffetto seconded the motion.  The motion was passed 3-0.  The meeting was adjourned at 10:30 a.m.

The next Town Meeting is scheduled for Monday, August 8, 2022 at 10:00 a.m.
