Due to the Coronavirus State of Emergency the Town Office will not be open to the public. The meeting was conducted via a conference call for those interested in listening to the meeting.
Street Repair and Paving: Commissioner Rhodes stated that all the Town streets that were originally tar and chip have been overlayed with asphalt. Since this has been done a drainage issue has been identified at the bend on New Street. Commissioner Rhodes met with the Town Engineer and County Roads Department and it appears that it can be repaired easily because the drain box there is somewhat full. The County Roads Department will clear it and do some grading to help direct the water to the drain box. Also there was a possible issue with a pipe under Cemetery Lane. The Town's Engineer and County Roads Department will investigate the situation and determine what may need to be done there and advise the Commissioners.

Board of Appeals: Nothing to report

Parking Lot Resealing at 102 Walnut Street: Ms. Lindyberg said that the parking lot is usually resealed every year at the end of August or beginning of September depending on the weather. Do the Commissioners want to authorize to have it done this year? Commissioner Raffetto moved to have the parking lot at 102 Walnut Street resealed again this year. President Griffin seconded the motion. The motion passed 3-0.
The next Town Meeting is scheduled for Monday, August 17, 2020 at TBD.
Flow Reports: Each Commissioner had a copy of the report.
Other: Commissioner Rhodes stated that he will contact MES to make sure that enough preparations have been made in anticipation of the potential coming storm.
Comments: Mr. Phil Hurlock said that a great job has been done on the repaving of the streets in Town. He also mentioned that the speed on Walnut Street is continuing to be an issue with many cars not adhering to the 25 mile an hour speed limit. Commissioner Rhodes said that he will contact the State Police and QAC Sheriff's Department.
