Mr. Jack, as he is affectionately known, was first elected as a Town Commissioner in June 1986 and has served the town continually since that date. He was born in 1929 and is a lifelong resident of Church Hill. He married Aretta (Rettsy) Baynard in 1950 and has two children, Jane Jensen and John Paul Griffin Jr., both of whom are married and reside in Church Hill with their families. Mr. Jack is a member of the last graduating class of Church Hill High School. He is a retired painter and loves baseball. His hobbies include gardening and his grand and great grandchildren. He is a Korean War Veteran and a long time member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW).
